How do I send mobile top-up to Afghanistan?
Enter the Afghan phone number with the +93 country code, choose the operator (we detect it automatically from the prefix), pick an amount and pay by card. The airtime is sent straight to the recipient’s phone — they do not need an app, an account or internet access to receive it.
Which Afghan mobile networks can I recharge?
You can recharge prepaid numbers on Roshan, AWCC (Afghan Wireless), Etisalat, Atoma (formerly MTN) and Salaam (Afghan Telecom). Together these networks cover the large majority of mobile phones in Afghanistan.
How long does an Afghanistan top-up take to arrive?
Most top-ups arrive within seconds of a successful payment. Occasionally an operator network is slow, and delivery can take a few minutes. If a top-up cannot be delivered, you are not charged for it.
What is the format of an Afghan mobile number?
Afghan mobile numbers have 9 digits after the country code +93 and start with 7, for example +93 79 123 4567. Inside Afghanistan the same number is dialled as 079 123 4567. Enter it either way — we remove the leading 0 for you.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The exact amount you pay, including any service fee, is shown on the review screen before you confirm payment. The recipient receives the full top-up value shown for the selected amount.
Does the recipient need to do anything to receive the airtime?
No. The credit is added to the prepaid balance automatically and the operator usually sends the recipient an SMS confirmation. They can use it immediately for calls, SMS or mobile data.
Which payment methods can I use?
You can pay with major debit and credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard. Payments are processed over an encrypted connection by a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider; we never store your full card number.
Can I top up a postpaid or landline number?
No. Mobile top-up works only for prepaid mobile numbers. Postpaid contract lines and landlines cannot receive airtime recharges.
What happens if I enter the wrong number?
Top-ups are delivered instantly and operators cannot reverse credit sent to a valid number, so please double-check the number on the review screen. If the number is invalid and the top-up fails, you will not be charged.
Can I send top-up to Afghanistan from the UK, USA, Germany or other countries?
Yes. WatanTopUp works from anywhere with internet access. Afghans abroad in the UK, USA, Canada, Germany, Turkey, the UAE, Iran, Pakistan and elsewhere use online top-up to support family and friends back home.
